The General Authority for Awqaf announced the commencement of depositing the profits realized for the 2025 fiscal year from endowed real estate funds deposited with the Authority. This step reflects the Authority’s continued approach to maximizing and developing waqf returns in a manner that achieves sustainability and enhances the efficiency of waqf asset management.
The Authority explained that the total cumulative profits generated from awqaf investments since the start of the investment process have reached approximately SAR 1.58 billion, underscoring the effectiveness of the investment methodology adopted in managing deposited funds, maximizing their economic and social impact, and ensuring compliance with the donors’ stipulations.
It noted that these profits include funds from endowed real estate properties that were expropriated for public interest, or for which approval was issued by the competent court to dispose of them. The Authority invests these funds in accordance with professional standards and well-considered investment strategies that prioritize capital preservation, risk management, and the achievement of sustainable returns, thereby safeguarding waqf assets and ensuring their continuity. This reflects the leadership’s—may God support it—commitment to the waqf sector. Such investments are among the outcomes of the Council of Ministers’ decision dated 24/01/1446 AH, which granted the General Authority for Awqaf the authority to invest endowed real estate funds deposited with it.
The Authority added that waqf supervisors (Nuthar) can verify their entitled profits through the “Awqaf” digital services platform via the “Authorization to Invest Funds” service. It also urged those who have not yet registered on the “Awqaf” platform to promptly register, check for any entitled profits, and benefit from the available digital services, which enable them to monitor their endowments and enhance the utilization of investment returns. This comes as part of the digital transformation led by the Authority to develop the waqf sector and improve its efficiency.
It is worth noting that the General Authority for Awqaf works to strengthen, govern, and preserve the waqf sector, as well as develop it and raise awareness of its role through the launch of innovative waqf products and services provided to beneficiaries, positioning the sector as a leader in sustainable development locally and globally. This is achieved by fulfilling the donors’ conditions, applying best practices, enacting regulations and bylaws that advance and empower waqf operations, and maximizing their impact on economic and social development and social solidarity.
